Picked this up at an estate auction recently. Can’t wait to put it to work!
Finally! Working on the truck again!
While I wasn’t planning on cutting into the cab last night, when I got into the shop – I decided that it was time to tear into the body work. I was apprehensive at first, I didn’t want to make a bigger mess of a pretty decent cab. But once I got into it, it wasn’t so bad! Take a look at the cowl removal.
Shop setup
Since we moved in November I’ve slowly been getting my new shop setup. I never thought I would be packing up and moving when I started the truck rebuild, but soon I’ll start reaping the benefits!
I now have hard air lines installed with filter and drain, and the bench is becoming usable! Within a few weeks I hope to start metal work on the truck ca
I’ve got gas!
I finally made the switch from flux core to argon/co2 shielding gas, and what a difference! Much cleaner welds with less cleanup. When I bought the welder two years ago I wasn’t in a rush to buy the gas, I wanted to spread the financial pain around! Now that I’m ready to tackle patch panels on the body, I’m ready to step up the welding! Hopefully the upcoming weeks will see work resuming on the chevy!
